Emergency electrician in Islington, Camden and Haringey
- If you see smoke, sparks or a burning smell, turn off the power at the consumer unit if safe and call 999 if there is a fire.
- If the whole street is out, call 105, the free national power cut number, rather than an electrician.
- If one circuit keeps tripping, unplug everything on it and try resetting once. Repeated tripping needs an electrician.
- Ask for the call out charge, hourly rate and VAT before the electrician sets off.
If you buy at home or by phone, you usually have a 14 day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, but if you ask for work to start straight away you may have to pay for work already done.
